CAMELEON 1.20 (Mac/Win)
Web Clip 1:
Four short speech clips were analyzed then resynthesized primarily using Cameleon’s noise component. The clip first plays a spiral morph of the four clips then adds some of Cameleon’s effects processing.

Web Clip 2:
This three-part clip uses bass, bell-like, and ambient presets all created using Cameleon’s randomizing feature.

Web Clip 1:
This example uses the Mordent1 Patch and moves first quickly then slowly through the overtones of a sound.

Web Clip 2:
This clip demonstrates the Bloinger_DZ factory Patch. The groove was captured by calling up the Patch and then playing the Variation buttons every two or four bars from the front panel.

Web Clip 3:
This clip demonstrates the DelaySeq_D factory Patch. The groove was captured by calling up the Patch and then playing the Variation buttons every two or four bars from the front panel.

Web Clip 1:
Web Clip 1: This patch uses both oscillators with a short, percussive amplitude envelope. On held chords, a fast arpeggiator setting creates a shimmer effect while subtle filter modulation results in a changing timbre.

Web Clip 2:
Web Clip 2: The impOSCar reproduces a classic OSCar bass patch with medium high filter Q.

Web Clip 3:
Web Clip 3: This sound uses both oscillators, a percussive filter envelope, and high filter Q with LFO filter modulation.

Web Clip 1:
Web Clip 1: Here WaveWeaver is used to modulate a groove. I loaded the Snapshot "Neu Dazu" then: 1) used the Wave/WaveSet XY pad to vary the wave and sample position; 2) used the Cutoff/Resonance XY pad to vary the filtering; 3) used the Sequencer mod controls (Bidir, Inv, Skip, Position Mods, and so on) to vary the sequence order; 4) used the Sequencer Pitch control to vary the sequence pitch.

Web Clip 2: This clip begins with the Snapshot "SteamPipe" playing a short melodic line and is followed by several variants I created by randomizing the original SteamPipe Snapshot (at 20 percent).

Web Clip 3:
Web Clip 3: Here I began with the SteamPipe Snapshot "Bell" playing the same line. That is followed by variants I created by randomizing the Snapshot.

Web Clip 4:
Web Clip 4: This clip begins with the SteamPipe Snapshot "Cello", followed by randomized variants.

Web Clip 5:
Web Clip 5: Here I used a Stereo 2 Channel Mixer added to the Grainstates FX Ensemble (as described in the article) to blend its dry and wet signals. The clip begins with a dry solo-voice passage, then repeats the passage while using the Stereo 2 Channel Mixer to blend in the wet Grainstates FX signal, then repeats again while fading the dry signal out, and ends with the passage completely wet.

Web Clip 6:
Web Clip 6: This clip shows the deliciously filthy power of Meanmachine. The clip begins with a tabula rasa rendition of a 12-tone row. For the rest of the clip, this row repeats over and over (transposed), while Meanmachine controls are engaged, systematically, proceeding from left to right first in the Pain component, then the Phaser/Flanger, and finally Tuned Ambience. Note that I had to trim the output rather severely to prevent aural/loudspeaker trauma.

Web Clip 7:
Web Clip 7: Here I used SeQuenza to create a flowing musical passage. I begin with a spoken sentence, then present several loops of the sentence, which I created by clicking on the Randomize button (with all Auto buttons off).

Web Clip 8:
Web Clip 8: Here I used SeQuenza to create a short passage with all RndParameter and RndStartLen Auto buttons turned on.

Web Clip 1:
I used Vanguard's Transgate and Arpeggiator to create the bass, percussion, and lead parts in this short clip.

These clips were recorded in a basement and have no added EQ or effects. Web Clip 1:
