APPLIED ACOUSTICS SYSTEMS
Ultra Analog 1.0

Ultra Analog’s multimode filters contribute significantly to the realism of its analog simulations.

Web Clip 2:
Here an arpeggiator pattern is processed with a ping-pong delay effect.

DISCRETE DRUMS
Discrete Percussion: The Eric Darken Collection
(Mac/Win)
Web Clip 1:
This short piece uses the loop called Throne Room, which features a mix of percussion including Darken drumming on various parts of a toilet. The flush-like sound is from a spring drum.

Nondestructive slice rearrangement examples: 1) the original loop; 2) the original loop with a few moved slices; 3) the previous loop with a few replaced slices; 4) the previous loop with a few muted slices. (Note: All the original loops for this workshop were created with the Reaktor ensemble druMMer_v3 from rachMiel.).

Web Clip 2:
Destructive slice rearrangement examples: 1) the original loop; 2) the original loop with a few inserted slices; 3) the previous loop with a few deleted slices.

Web Clip 3:
Nondestructive slice effect examples: 1) the original loop; 2) the original loop with a few equalized and filtered slices; 3) the previous loop with a few reversed slices; 4) the previous loop with a few amplitude-enveloped slices; 5) the previous loop with a few reverbed (forward and reverse) slices.

SONOROUS CODES
atmogen 1.02
(Win)
Web Clip 1:
In this example, a one-second sound was generated, then stretched first to ten times its length, then to sixty times its length. This sound file contains the original one-second sound, all of the second version, and the first ten seconds of the third version.

Web Clip 2:
The Paint Brush tool was used to generate the image for this clip, which has a granular texture.

Web Clip 3:
In this example, a sine wave, which is heard at the opening of the file, is processed using the Mosaic tool. The result is heard at the end of the file

Web Clip 4:
In this example, the sine wave from Web Clip 3 is processed with the Edges tool.

Web Clip 5:
atmogen’s Freeze Spectrum tools can freeze a sound on a single frequency. In this example, the sound from Web Clip 4 is frozen.

SPECTRASONICS
Stylus RMX 1.2.1
(Mac/Win)
Web Clip 1:
After changing the sample-start time and passing the loop through Chaos Designer and effects, acoustic instruments (such as this Djembe pattern) achieve radical sonic transformations.

Web Clip 2:
Melodic instruments are equally valid grist for the RMX mill. Here’s a Multi I’ve assembled with an acoustic bass loop, an arpeggiator pattern, and wah-wah rhythm guitar added to some third party tablas and Stylus RMX drums and percussion.

Web Clip 3:
Here is a single instance of RMX playing an eight-part Multi with lots of Chaos Designer, LFO-controlled panning, and effects. Note the cannosn-shot snare created with reverb applied to just beats two and four.

TASCAM
GIGASTUDIO 3 ORCHESTRA
(Win)
Web Clip 1:
Tascam's new GigaStudio 3 is available in three versions to accommodate different setups and budgets.

Web Clip 2:
As a significant added bonus, GigaStudio 3 Orchestra includes an 18 GB collection of samples from more than a dozen popular Giga-library developers.
