eMedia Music has announced the Guitar Master (Mac/Win; $39.95) CD-ROM. This instructional disc features popular songs from Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and teaches you how to play the guitar through more than 100 step-by-step audio- and video-enhanced lessons.
The instructor on the disc, Charles McCrone, teaches a number of guitar techniques, such as power chords, barre chords, hammer-ons, pull-offs, palm muting, distorted riffs, the blues scale, movable major and minor scales, and much more.
Tools such as an animated fretboard, large screens with a simple interface, and audio clips, further enhance the lessons. Guitar Master also includes an automatic tuner, a multimedia chord dictionary, a digital recorder, and a digital Metronome.
