Alexander Publishing has teamed up with Naxos to create How Ravel Orchestrated: Mother Goose Suite, an orchestration instruction set that includes a newly-engraved, 200-page score with the condensed piano part, along with a recording of Mother Goose Suite performed by the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Kenneth Jean.

Maurice Ravel, the French composer most notably known for his orchestration of Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, drew much of his inspiration from art and literature. Alexander Publishing and Naxos took that into account by preceding each of the Suite's five movements with the short story that Ravel used to guide his composition process, giving you a better understanding of Ravel's method of dramatic composition and scoring. Following each movement is a brief analysis, including electronic scoring insights based on the "Eight Keys to Learning Professional Orchestration" as taught in Alexander Publishing's Professional Orchestration Series.

How Ravel Orchestrated: Mother Goose Suite also includes a summary of how Ravel worked, as well two literary works by Edgar Allan Poe that influenced Ravel: The Philosophy of Composition and The Poetic Principle.
