BIAS, Inc. is shipping Peak LE 6 (Mac; $129), the light edition of the company's Peak Pro audio editing, processing, and mastering application.
Peak LE 6 offers many improvements over the last version. You can author and upload audio Podcasts directly, without an additional application; use Voiceover Ducking to automatically lower the music during a voiceover; and use other new DSP features, such as Change Duration options (for optimization of vocal and musical content) and Mono-to-Stereo/Stereo-to-Mono conversion. Furthermore, the Peak LE Playlist now includes an advanced PQ sheet/text export feature, which creates custom Playlist reports that include durations, index points, CD-Text information, and notes. You can print, save, and export the reports as you wish. You can also export audio documents or entire playlists into Apple iTunes.
Version 6 of the software supports three simultaneous AU/VST plug-ins and includes a Record Timer that automatically automates record stop time and a Record Notepad for entering marker cues during recording. In addition, the software supports MP2 and FLAC.
