TC Electronic is shipping Nova System (EUR 699), a floor-based guitar system that combines analog distortion and overdrive with digital control.
Nova System features Nova Drive Technology (NDT), a drive and distortion circuit with analog sound under preset and expression control. The drive circuit is pure analog and is physically separate from the digital effects, but its controls are digital. According to the manufacturer, this allows the drive effects to be adjusted, stored, and recalled in the same way as any of the digital effects. In addition, the amount of distortion can be controlled in real-time by hooking up an expression pedal.
The unit comes with eight effects blocks taken from TC Electronic's G-System. It has drive, compression, EQ, Noise Gate, Modulation, Pitch, Delay, and Reverb, all of which are programmable and storable in 60 user presets.
Nova System also features high-impedance and balanced inputs, balanced stereo outputs, two footswitch types (preset and pedal), and optional G-Switch for further control.
