San Diego-based SoundHack has released the Spectral Shapers 1.2 (Mac; $99 for download, $150 for boxed version) plug-in bundle, which is now compatible with Digidesign Pro Tools 7.0 and higher. This new version also adds Universal Binary support to its VST, AU, and RTAS plug-ins.

The bundle's plug-ins are filters that reshape the timbre of sound: +spectralcompand is a spectral version of a compressor/expander, which can be used for broadband noise reduction; +spectralgate is a multiband noise gate and ducker; +morphfilter morphs between two filter settings that can be drawn or learned; and +binaural is a spatialization plug-in optimized for headphone use.

The Windows version will soon be released with a new version of the VST plug-ins and an RTAS release for Pro Tools.
