Seeking to capture the legendary sound of the Pultec EQP-1A equalizer, A-Designs Audio has released the EM-PEQ ($1,500) 500-series EQ module.
The unit reprises the original EQP-1A's EQ section but employs a discrete Class AB amplifier like that found in A-Designs' Pacifica mic pre. According to the manufacturer, the EM-PEQ features a nickel-core output transformer, Grayhill rotary switches, Wima caps, a true hard bypass, and a custom-wound tapped inductor.
As an approved API VPR Alliance product, the EM-PEQ is also compatible with Brent Averill Enterprises racks and A-Designs' R52.
