Sonivox, formerly Sonic Implants, has released a new line of DVI products ($11.95 to $79.95) which feature a large selection of instruments and instrument collections.
Short for "downloadable virtual instruments," DVI products combine Sonivox’s instruments with Tascam’s GVI sample playback technology. As a result, each DVI product is downloadable and instantly playable as a plug-in or as a standalone instrument.
The first releases of DVI products include Steel String and Nylon String Acoustic Guitars, multiple Drumkits, Basses, Electric Guitars, Harpsichord, Electric Pianos, Vintage Synths, Harp, Bagpipes, String Ensembles, and Brass Ensembles.
Sonivox DVIs are available for PCs in standalone, VSTi, and RTAS formats from the Sonivox Web shop. The company expects to offer Mac compatibility in Fall, 2007.
