Propellerhead Software has released signature patches for Reason 4's new Thor Polysonic Synthesizer ($499). Thor—which offers six oscillators with four filter types, plus waveshaping, enveloping, and effects—is a part of the Reason 4 (Mac/Win) standalone music production system, which will be available later in 2007.

The Thor patches for the Reason sound bank were created by top synthesists and sound developers, including Daniel Wang, Morgan Geist, Pascal Gabriel, Plaid, Richard Barbieri, Richard Devine, Sonic Boom, Tipper, Two Lone Swordsmen, Gordon Reid, and Vengeance.

Upgrades from any prior registered version of Reason are $129. All users who purchased Reason after June 1, 2007 will be entitled to a free upgrade.
