Sampletron

IK Multimedia is shipping SampleTron (Mac/Win; $329.99), a virtual instrument from the Sonik Instruments range. Created with the help of Sonic Reality, SampleTron provides a collection of Tron and other vintage keyboard samples.

The virtual instrument offers a library of 17 rare Tron instrument sounds, a "Powered by SampleTank" engine, and easy editing. It's available as a sample-based virtual instrument plug-in and as a standalone application.

In addition, SampleTron's library includes more than 2 GB of sounds, 640 presets, and 260 multisamples from Mellotrons, Chamberlins, the Optigan, Rhythmaster, and more. You also get 32 built-in effects with the ability to use 4 effects per part, IK Multimedia's Stretch and synth algorithms, and 4 Tron specific controls.
