Good convolution software has been around for a long time; I’ve been a user of Sony’s Acoustic Mirror since before the company was Sony and before the feature was even included with Sound Forge. But the recent explosion of convolution-reverb software has made the technique even more accessible. This list includes representative tools that run either as plug-ins with a suitable host or as a built-in feature within a dedicated audio program. You should have no trouble producing results like those described in this article using nearly any of them.
