Stanton SCS.3m photo

Stanton DJ has announced the SCS.3m ($249) portable MIDI controller, which features a touch-sensitive control surface that emulates the layout of a traditional two-channel mixer.

According to the manufacturer, the SCS.3m incorporates all of the functions of a two-channel DJ mixer, plus other performance features made possible by its touch-sensitive control surface. Use the touch-sensitive sliders to adjust EQs or control effects parameters within Traktor LE; use the touch-sensitive crossfader to blend between decks and detect multiple finger presses. The SCS.3m has multicolor buttons, visual indicators, a durable surface, a built-in powered USB hub, and custom presets for other DJ applications (download them separately from Stanton's Web site).

The SCS.3m can be used as a standalone controller, or it can be paired with the SCS.3d deck controllers to create a mobile MIDI control rig. Each SCS.3m unit comes with a new version of Native Instruments Traktor LE software.

Expect it ship in May, 2009. For more information, please visit stantondj.com.
