Alesis has announced the Trigger I/O percussion interface (Mac/Win), a tool that uses electronic triggers placed on traditional acoustic drum sources and converts them into MIDI note messages. The Trigger I/O has 10 inputs and 20 programmable presets to store and recall setups. It also comes bundled with BFD Lite software.
Audix has released the VX5 hand-held vocal condenser microphone ($299).
DUY has released the Magic Spectrum ($293.82) plug-in as an online download. Magic Spectrum is available for TDM, RTAS, Audio Units, VST, and MAS/MOTU running on Mac OS X.
Sonic Reality has released Sonic Reality Rex Paks ($79 each). Each Rex Pak title is based on a different style of music and features hundreds of 24-bit loops sliced in Rex2 format for use with software such as Stylus RMX, Reason, Kontakt, Cubase, FL Studio, Pro Tools 7, or any Rex2 compatible DAW or sampler. Among the six titles shipping this month are Vintage Soul Grooves; Hip Hop: Dirty South; and Nashville Pop Grooves.
The Sound Guy, Inc. has added VST SDK 2.4 support for SFX Machine RT 1.06 ($99) and SFX Machine Pro 1.01 ($199). SFX Machine Pro allows you to create your own effects from scratch and includes over 300 effects. The SFX Machine RT Interactive Simulator lets you try out over 250 presets without having to download a demo.
