MOTU has released a Windows version of its MachFive sampler software. The product now offers disk streaming and several additional enhancements. MachFive supports all major Windows plug-in formats -- VST, DXi, RTAS, and HTDM -- and Windows-based host applications, such as Digidesign Pro Tools, Cakewalk Sonar, and Steinberg Cubase SX and Nuendo.

Other new features include the ability to import Kontakt

sound banks and REX 1 and 2 files. MachFive automatically maps each audio slice in a REX file to consecutive keys on the keyboard for convenient sample-style triggering. Both of these new features

are also being made available to MachFive Mac users in a free version 1.08 updater. For more information, visit www.motu.com/downloads. To read the EM review of MachFive 1.07, click here.
