Big Fish Audio has released MOJO: Horn Section ($499.95), a virtual instrument plug-in consisting of pop, funk, jazz and big band horns. According to the manufacturer, MOJO goes beyond standard sample libraries and offers an easy to use, feature-packed interface that is ready to play.
Included in the 14 GB collection are the following sampled instruments: soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones; trumpet (open, muted and piccolo); flugel horn; trombone (open and muted); bass trombone; and clarinet. Numerous articulations are included, such as sustains, stabs, staccatos, trills, slurs, shakes, octave runs, rise to hits, falls (including four different lengths), doits, bends, stylistic riffs, special effects, and tempo-synced swells and crescendos. All samples are recorded in 24-bit stereo.
Powered by the Native Instruments Kontakt engine, MOJO integrates into all major sequencers via its Audio Units, VST and RTAS plug-ins. It also runs as a standalone instrument.
