(October 28, 2009, Santa Barbara, CA) One of the most highly regarded virtual instruments available today--Wallander Instruments Visual Instrument (WIVI, for short)--now boasts a host of improvements, thanks to a newly-released major update. Offered free to registered users, Version 2.30 contains five significant new features that make programming and performance easier than ever before, and add substantially to the sonic realism of the instruments.
· Support for multiple input devices allows combinations of controllers to modulate notes simultaneously, making it far easier to play the instruments expressively from a keyboard. The Mod wheel/velocity combination is particularly useful and intuitive, virtually eliminating the need to use a breath controller to create realistic and expressive performances.
· The Smart Note Release function automatically determines the best note release for the performance, resulting in dramatically improved realism of phrases played from a keyboard.
· The new Section Builder facilitates "single-click" creation of multi-instrument groups, complete with automatic assignment of polyphonic voices, timing randomization, and proper positioning on the orchestral soundstage.
· Instrument Merge allows all selected instruments to be easily grouped, and then accessed with a single click. This simple, yet powerful, feature is particularly helpful when building articulations with keyswitches, as the stage is less cluttered, and the stage positions of the articulations are automatically linked.
· All instruments have undergone a variety of tonal improvements, most notably the saxophone models, which are now based on a number of new recordings.
Numerous smaller, but nonetheless important enhancements round out the package, including improvements to the reverb and room acoustics, easier parameter and data entry, and faster instrument load time.
The V2.30 update is available at no charge to all registered WIVI users. New users will automatically receive V2.30 when they purchase the software from their local retail outlet. For further information visit www.mvproaudio.com.
