SKB Corporation has introduced the 1SKB19-RSF4U Studio Flyer 4U ($269.99), a storage case that allows you to transport laptop computers, disk drives, audio interfaces, or other rackmountable recording equipment. As the larger version of the original 2U Studio Flyer, the Studio Flyer 4U adds an extra 2U of rack space and a larger surface for holding laptops or flat screens.
The Studio Flyer 4U also features a standard 4U rackmount space, a laptop compartment with convoluted foam interior in the lift-off lid for laptop protection, and cable pass-through, so that the laptop and interface can remain cabled up at all times. It has removable front and back doors for easy access to rack gear. The case is roto-molded of durable polyethylene and features four inline wheels for secure rolling with heavier loads; a two-stage injection molded pull-out handle; patented, glass fiber-reinforced nylon construction; a trigger release latching system with a TSA recognized and accepted lock; and more. The Studio Flyer 4U is also stackable with SKB's new 1SKB-R4W and 1SKB-R6W Rolling Roto-Rack cases.
