Combining all the functionality of the original XioSynth audio/MIDI controller with an expanded keyboard, Novation is now shipping the semiweighted, 49-key XioSynth 49.

Like its smaller sibling, the XioSynth 49 packages 200 onboard patches; 60 artist-created sounds (from the likes of Ferry Corsten and Roots Manuva); the Xpression pad and pitch/mod joystick; and the X-Gator 32-step sequencer, which automatically synchronizes to incoming MIDI Clock. The unit's 16 MIDI templates are preprogrammed to work with software from Apple, Cakewalk, Native Instruments, and others. And because the XioSynth 49 is class-compliant, no drivers are necessary (though drivers are provided to improve latency on certain platforms).

Powered by USB or AA batteries, the XioSynth 49 also features the ability to record with phantom power as well as a hybrid mode that enables simultaneous synthesizing and controlling. A tutorial DVD rounds out the package.
