silver microphone

MXL Microphones has announced a new cardioid condenser microphone called the USB.009-24 ($399.95 MAP). The microphone has 24-bit A/D and D/A converters with up to 96 kHz recording capability, and a 32 mm pressure gradient condenser capsule with a gold-sputtered diaphragm. The mic is compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 1.1, allowing you to record into any computer with a USB port. According to the manufacturer, the USB.009-24 is ideal for desktop recording applications, such as Podcasting and home recording, as well as any kind of vocal recording.

Furthermore, the USB.009-24 offers a 1/8-inch stereo headphone jack, adjustable level control, mix control, and analog gain control. A blue LED on the capsule lights up when the microphone is powered and active.

The microphone ships with a desktop microphone stand, a mounting clip, a flight case, cleaning cloth, a USB cable, an owner’s manual, and an applications guide. MXL expects the unit to be available in Spring, 2008. For more information, please visit www.mxlmics.com.
