Sennheiser is shipping the e 602 II ($289) cardioid dynamic microphone, the newest addition to Sennheiser's Evolution Series microphones. According to the manufacturer, the e 602 II is designed for use with low-frequency instruments such as kick drums, bass guitar cabs, and tubas.

Housed in a rugged yet lightweight aluminum body, the microphone features a hum-compensating coil to help eliminate electrical interference. The e 602 II comes with an integrated stand mount and a protective pouch.

Sennheiser has also announced the new Kickpack II ($379), which replaces the first Kickpack. The Kickpack II includes the e 602 II microphone, a short boom stand, and a 25-foot XLR cable.
