The Superlux E522/B X/Y

Avlex Corporation has announced four new microphones: the Superlux E522/B X/Y, the Superlux E523/D X/Y, the Superlux E531/BCS M/S, and the Superlux R102.

The Superlux E522/B X/Y ($100) is a stereo field-recording microphone that features a matched pair of capsules in an X/Y configuration, an integrated switchable low-cut filter, external on/off switch, battery or phantom power operation, dual unbalanced outputs, and a 30 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The mic comes with a 3-meter stereo cable, a microphone clamp, and a protective pouch.

Also a stereo field-recording microphone, the Superlux E523/D X/Y ($120) features a matched pair of capsules in an X/Y configuration, an integrated low-frequency roll-off switch, external on/off switch, battery or phantom power operation, a 30 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, and integration with A/V products. The E523/D X/Y includes a 5-meter stereo cable, a microphone clamp, and a protective pouch.

The Superlux R102

The Superlux E531/BCS M/S ($49) stereo field-recording microphone offers a mid-side configuration, battery-powered operation, a 3.5 mm stereo mini plug, and a frequency response of 100 Hz to 15 kHz. The mic has a cardioid polar pattern for its mid section and a figure-8 polar pattern for the side. It also has a switch that lets you flip between 90-degree and 120-degree patterns. Supplied accessories include a microphone stand clip that supports both 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch threads, and a foam windscreen.

Lastly, the Superlux R102 ($399) is an aluminum ribbon microphone that features an electro-magnetic transducer and an impedance-converting circuit, a figure-8 polar pattern, and a 20 Hz to 15 kHz frequency response. The Superlux R102 comes with a dual core shielded cable and a microphone stand adapter.

According to the manufacturer, these new Superlux microphones will ship in the second quarter of 2007.
