At $39.95, the Danelectro HoneyTone mini-amp gives just about any instrument a warm, rich tone. It even sounds great close-miked. You can adjust the overdrive for subtle to raunchy distortion, and the tone knob gives you further sonic tweakability. Surprisingly, the manual includes a number of useful settings. If you want to rock out in private, the unit has a 11/48-inch headphone jack. We ran an otherwise sterile electric-piano patch through the HoneyTone and added a bit of overdrive: "Gee, Dad, it's a Wurlitzer!"
