The Vienna Symphonic Library has released the Vienna Special Edition (Mac/Win), an all-in-one orchestral instrument collection that has 80 GB of 24-bit, 44.1 kHz samples and works as a standalone or as a plug-in for AU and VST hosts. Like the company's other collections, the Vienna Special Edition comes in three different libraries: Standard ($445), Extended ($595), and Full ($1,040).
The Standard Library includes 28 instruments and ensembles—solo and ensemble strings, brass, woodwinds, harp, drums, percussion, celesta, and the Bösendorfer Imperial grand piano—whereas the Extended Library has the same but adds 35 more instruments such as basset horn, Epic Horns, Wagner tuba, contrabass trombone, saxophones, the Vienna Konzerthaus Organ, and harpsichord. The Full Library has—you guessed it—all of the instruments from the Standard and Extended Libraries put together.
