PowerFX has released Sweet Ann ($149), the first of the company's new line of vocal libraries to employ Yamaha's Vocaloid2 upgraded software. Vocaloid software applications enable you to type in words and melody, and have the vocal library "artist" sing back the input. In this case, the "artist" is Sweet Ann, which is capable of singing back realistic vocals with warm vibrato and a large range.
According to the manufacturer, the Sweet Ann vocal library is ideal for producing electronic dance music and background vocals, and experimenting with new sounds and textures.
The Sweet Ann vocal library package is available from PowerFX directly, and includes a standalone version, a VSTi plug-in with real-time keyboard performance, and ReWire connectivity. For more information, visit the PowerFX Web site at /www.powerfx.com.
