amPlug Lead

VOX has released two new models of palm-sized, battery-powered, headphone guitar amplifiers: the amPlug Lead and amPlug Bass ($49.99 each). You can plug either model directly into your guitar via its built-in 1/4-inch plug, and play anywhere, anytime. The amPlug Lead and amPlug Bass also have an aux input jack, which allows you to play along with any MP3 player.

The amPlug Lead is based on a U.S.-made, high-gain boutique amp that has been modified specifically for lead guitar. It also features a digital delay effect. The amPlug Bass, on the other hand, is modeled on VOX's AC100 bass amp and has been further expanded with a full-range tone and a compressor/boost effect for compression and a thick overdrive sound. Furthermore, the amPLug Bass utilizes a FET buffer circuit to achieve a better dynamic range.

Using proprietary analog modeling technology, the amPlug range of headphone guitar amplifiers reproduces vacuum tube-style distortion, as well as the powerful high gain produced by a large amp stack. Both models are compact (3.39" x 3.15" x 1.22") and lightweight (1.41 oz., not including batteries). In addition, both the amPlug Lead and amPlug Bass offer up to 20 hours of battery life from two AAA batteries.
