Harmony-M photo

TC-Helicon is shipping the VoiceTone Harmony-M ($395) vocal harmony and effects pedal. Designed with the MIDI keyboard player in mind, the VoiceTone Harmony-M features the NaturalPlay algorithm that enables singing keyboard players to add backup harmony singers to their performances. The algorithm deciphers real-time key and chord information from simple and complex player styles and handles everything from bass inversions, changing playing styles, and common fingering mistakes.

In addition, Harmony-M can automatically apply adaptive EQ, compression, and de-essing algorithms to a performance. This feature allows keyboard players to focus on playing while the VoiceTone Harmony-M produces a vocal sound using doubling and reverb/delay combinations.

The VoiceTone Harmony-M’s algorithms work with Standard MIDI Files (SMF) that have a harmony track authored within the file. To further arrange voicing and effects changes in songs, users can step through ten presets with A/B settings as they perform. The pedal includes classic notes and chord harmony control modes, as well as1/4-inch TRS mic level I/O and an input for an optional footswitch.
