Surround and stereo mic manufacturer SoundField has announced several new products: the DSF-1 Digital Studio System, the DSF-3 Digital Broadcast Surround Processor, and the SPS200 A-Format microphone.

Like the previously-released DSF-2, the DSF-1 can produce simultaneous, phase-coherent stereo and surround sound from a single microphone, and is suited for recording applications such as orchestral recordings and classical concerts.

The DSF-3 is a real-time surround processor for live HD broadcast use. It provides control over the surround image captured by a SoundField microphone from within an associated OB vehicle.

Lastly, the SPS200 A-Format is a portable, lightweight microphone designed for laptop-based location recording. Like all other SoundField microphones, the SPS200 can output simultaneous audio in a variety of formats including stereo and surround. Instead of an accompanying hardware control unit, the microphone ships with "Conversion Lounge" software for stereo and surround decoding and manipulation. The software (Mac/Win) is compatible with Digidesign Pro Tools and all DAWs that support the VST Multichannel standard.
