Fast Track Ultra 8R

M-Audio has announced its Fast Track Ultra 8R ($629.95) rackmountable 8 x 8 audio MIDI interface. The unit features USB 2.0 connectivity, the MX Core DSP mixer, eight preamps, and a rugged 1U rackmountable metal chassis.

The preamps offer +48V phantom power for condenser mics, signal/peak LED indicator lights, and a pull-out gain knob that activates a 20 dB pad for recording at high volumes. The eight inputs also accept line-level signals. In addition, the Fast Track Ultra 8R has two front-panel 1/4-inch instrument inputs. The MX Core DSP mixer provides for up to a 16 x 8 configuration. Furthermore, the interface offers eight channels of analog inputs and outputs, 2-channel digital S/PDIF, and two dedicated analog inserts on the first two channels.

The Fast Track Ultra 8R is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2008. Learn more at www.m-audio.com.
