Lexicon has announced the Ionix FW810S FireWire audio interface with integrated channel strip processing. The Ionix FW810S features 96 kHz sampling, with dbx high-voltage, low-noise mic pres and dynamics, and the Pantheon II reverb plug-in.
The Ionix FW810S has built-in dbx Type IV conversion, which allows you to preserve the wide dynamic range of analog recording even when input levels get too high. According to the manufacturer, this gives more headroom and captures subtle details in high-level signals instead of hard-clipping them.
The unit's software mixer includes a dbx compressor, limiter, gate, and EQ on each channel. The mixer allows you to adjust levels and apply dbx dynamics, for mixing and fine-tuning recordings in real-time with zero latency; save and load up to five monitor mixes; and use the outputs to incorporate external effects gear.
The Ionix FW810S's software suite (Mac/Win) includes Steinberg Cubase, Toontrack EZdrummer Lite, and the Lexicon Pantheon II reverb plug-in. Pantheon II provides the ability to change the parameters of 6 different reverbs, or use one of the 35 factory presets.
