Hosa Technology has announced its new Tracklink ($41.25) instrument-to-USB interface. The Tracklink is a 10-foot, 1/4-inch TS (tip-sleeve) to USB (2.0) Type A interface cable that lets instrumentalists, such as electric guitarists or keyboardists, make a single point-to-point connection between the instrument's 1/4-inch output and a computer's USB input.
TheTracklink is plug-and-play ready, so no drivers are required. It is compatible with most audio software, including Cakewalk Sonar LE and Apple GarageBand. Its indicator light provides visual confirmation of a secure connection and recording status.
The interface is ideal for use with guitars, basses, and keyboards, and it can be used with any electronic musical instrument that uses a mono phone output. Guitarists using pedal effects and other outboard processors can use the Tracklink to incorporate custom effects settings into recordings.
