New from Focusrite is the ISA 828 eight-channel microphone preamplifier. The ISA-series transformer-based mic preamps feature the same vintage mic preamp design as the original ISA 110 module from Focusrite's Forte console.

The preamps are complemented by eight line inputs, four instrument inputs, and optional eight-channel 192 kHz analog-to-digital conversion. Its 25-pin D-Type connectors allow the ISA 828 to integrate with Digidesign Pro Tools | HD and other hard disk recorders and mixing desks.

The microphone input stage includes a variable impedance circuit, letting you switch between four input impedance settings, and the four front panel instrument inputs feature high- and low-impedance options. Every channel has insert switches, highpass filters, and a six-LED input meter.
