DigiTech is shipping the Vocalist Live Pro ($849.95) vocal harmony and effects rack processor. The Vocalist Live Pro utilizes musIQ technology to analyze a musical accompaniment signal and create multipart harmony.
The 1U rackmounted unit works with any electric or amplified acoustic guitar, and because the Vocalist Live Pro also accepts MIDI, keyboard players can also get vocal harmonies by playing in a natural accompaniment style. According to the manufacturer, users of Vocalist Live Pro do not need any knowledge of programming or music theory to use the processor; just play a guitar or keyboard and the unit will create an accompanying harmony. You can choose harmony shifts in a two-octave range, including unisons, to create up to four-part harmony.
Other features include alternate harmony modes, such as Fixed Shift, Scalic, MIDI Chordal, and MIDI Notes; pitch correction; Lead and Harmony Persona and Gender models; vocal pre-effects, including Compressor, De-esser, Preamp, Band-Limiting, and EQ; Lexicon Reverb and Delay post-effects; 99 user or factory presets; a built-in guitar tuner; XLR mic/line with level adjustment, Soundcraft mic preamp, and 48V phantom power; and more.
