Allen & Heath has added the iDR0 to its iLive digital mixing system, and has released iLive System Software 1.2.

The iDR0 is a 2U rack unit that provides the iLive system's processing features for networked audio systems. The unit offers not slots for I/O modules, but two EtherSound ports that provide all the audio inputs and outputs of the system. According to the manufacturer, the iDR0 is ideal for users who want to mix common sources for different applications, such as FOH and Monitor, or need an additional mix that allows full processing and mixing capability with the source material.

In addition, the iDR0 includes the "iDR-64 Mix Engine Rack Extra" PCB, which provides the digital signal processing capability for the rack. It offers eight effects engines that can run system effects or can be inserted into input or mix channels. The "iDR-64 Mix Engine Rack Extra" module is also available as an upgrade to existing iLive systems.

The company has also released iLive 1.2 software, which comes pre-installed in the iDR0. Version 1.2 offers many new effects (delays, reverbs, ADT Doubler, Flanger, and Chorus); a 4-band parametric EQ on FX returns; the option to insert an FX engine into a channel as if it were an external device; and a patchbay extension making external inputs available for matrices, groups, aux, and mains. You may download the new software for free at the iLive Web site.
