M50 software

Karma-Lab has released KARMA M50 software (Mac/Win; $199) for the Korg M50, which gives M50 owners the same KARMA functionality as the higher-end Korg M3 and OASYS.

According to the manufacturer, the software provides you with all of the interactive KARMA features, grooves, and KARMA-fied Combis and Programs of the M3, with the exception being that the KARMA engine is provided by the computer and is not built-in to the keyboard.

The software includes 384 KARMA-fied Combis from the M3 and 608 KARMA Program assignments for the M50''s Programs. Its M50 Control Surface Mode lets you use the knobs, chord switches, and control surface modes to change between 8 KARMA scenes, trigger 8 KARMA chord buttons, and move sliders and switches in KARMA''s Real-Time Control Window. For additional control capability, you can interface other external controllers. You can also import MIDI phrases from .MID files and turn them into Generated Effects.
