Waves has announced GTR Solo ($140), new guitar-modeling software that features modeled amps, cabinets, and stompboxes. With GTR Solo, those who play the guitar or the bass can plug their instruments into their computers and play with the software's amps and effects.
The software package includes amp models from the likes of Fender, Marshall, and Vox. There are ten amps total: Clean, Sweet, Edgy, Drive, Overdrive, Crunch, Shredder, PRS Scorch, PRS Crush (Guitar Amps), and SolidState (Bass Amp).
In addition to amps, GTR Solo has ten cabinet models that emulate the sound of real speakers moving air. GTR Solo also features 13 stompboxes: OverDrive, Distortion, Phaser, Flanger, Chorus, Delay, Wah Wah, Spring, Pitcher, Vibrolo, GateComp, EQ and Volume.
