Waves and Ableton have joined forces to offer two software collections—Waves Gold Native and Ableton Live 7—in one package (Mac/Win; $1,500).
Meant for tracking, mixing, and mastering, Gold Native (in the Gold bundle) features more than 20 plug-ins, including Waves Tune LT, IR-L Convolution Reverb, and Doubler. The software also offers dynamics processing EQ and reverb.
The Waves/Ableton software package includes the full version of Live 7 (not Live 7 LE), and upgrades to Ableton Suite are available as needed. In short, Live 7 is a sequencing, recording, and mixing environment with built-in software instruments, REX and ReWire support, real-time time stretching, and much more.
