At this year's NAMM show, Tascam announced a slew of new products and updates.

Announcements
First, the company announced the BB-1000 Portable CD/SD Recorder, a battery-powered recorder that records to either SD Card media or blank CDs from four built-in microphones or XLR mic inputs. Its front and back microphones can be individually trimmed for a balanced recording and tracks can be played back through a built-in 10W sound system.

DR07 recorder

Releases
The DR-07 Portable Digital Recorder ($199) is a handheld digital recorder based on the Tascam DR-1. It records to SD or SDHC Card Media, comes with a 2 GB SD card, is powered by AA batteries, and allows for file transfers via USB 2.0. The recorder features a stereo pair of electret condenser microphones that capture sound as 24-bit WAV or MP3 files.

Built with advanced recording features, the DR-100 Portable Recorder features a pair of XLR mic inputs with phantom power for adding pro condenser microphones; four built-in electret condenser microphones (two cardioid and two omnidirectional); a built-in speaker for playback; a wireless remote control; and audio editing features. The DR-100 is powered either through an included Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery or AA batteries. The DR-100 records to SD or SDHC cards and comes with a 2 GB card.

The DP-004 Digital Pocketstudio ($199) is a portable four-track digital recorder, which utilizes a set of dedicated knobs and buttons for easy operation. It offers a pair of unbalanced 1/4-inch inputs that accept mic or line signals; a built-in stereo microphone; a stereo mixdown track; USB 2.0 connectivity. Furthermore, the DP-004 features autopunch recording, track editing, an undo function, a built-in metronome and tuner, and more. The unit records to SD Card media and comes with a 1 GB card.

Updates
Tascam has updated the DR-1 and GT-R1 Portable Digital Recorders to version 2.0, which offers additional features during recording, including a manual track increment for breaking a long session into individual tracks; a pre-record buffer feature that can store audio in a buffer to begin a recording two seconds before the record button is pressed; a 300 ms delay in recording to eliminate handling noise when the record button is pressed; and new editing features. The free 2.0 update will be available soon on the company Web site.

LA-40mk3, LA-80mk2, and LA-81mk2 line amplifiers have also been updated. The new models include a ±12 dB trim control for better matching of levels between components, as well as a signal-present LED.
