Submersible Music has announced DrumCore 3 (Mac/Win; $199). This version of the software features a new interface and double the content; it's also available as a plug-in.
The updated interface offers a number of new features. It now allows you to search and audition grooves in DrumCore via List View in the Groove Browser; see Audio mode and MIDI mode in a clearer fashion; view and find beats, variations, and fills that are arranged into song-like GrooveSets; and search content based on drummers, musical styles, and “feel” criteria and then drag and drop grooves into a music application.
DrumCore 3 includes a larger selection of songwriting beats, jazz content from Seattle jazz drummer Gregg Keplinger, and the Urban GT expansion pack. As a plug-in, its compatibility with RTAS, AU, and VSTi formats makes it easy to integrate with myriad recording applications.
According to the manufacturer, DrumCore 3 will be available in the second quarter of 2009. Current DrumCore customers will be able to upgrade to version 3 for $50 at submersiblemusic.com.
