KitCore 2.0 user interface

Submersible Music has released version 2.0 of KitCore (Mac/Win; $49) and KitCore Deluxe (Mac/Win; $99), the MIDI drum instrument and groove library in AU, VSTi, and RTAS formats. The version 2.0 upgrade is free for current KitCore and KitCore Deluxe version 1.0 owners.

This version of KitCore and KitCore Deluxe features a new Groove Browser, which allows you to search and audition your KitCore grooves; access GrooveSets (beats, variations, and fills that are arranged into song-like sets); search for content based on drummer, musical style, and “feel” criteria (such as shuffle, swing, 1/8th, 1/16th, and so forth); and drag and drop the grooves to a track in your host application. Version 2.0 also features “LiveDrummer” technology, which is said to provide greater realism for drum rolls and cymbal performances.

The contents of KitCore and KitCore Deluxe 2.0 include drumkits and grooves By Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam) and John Tempesta (Rob Zombie, Testament, Helmet). KitCore users can get this new content as a free KitPack download at the company's Web site.
