Skullcandy has announced its partnership with Metallica for the band’s new album Death Magnetic, to be released this week. This collaboration results in Metallica-branded Skullcandy headphones that will be introduced alongside the upcoming downloadable album.
The Skullcandy Artist Series includes two styles of headphones, Metallica Hesh and Metallica Lowrider. The Metallica Hesh ($69.95) features 50 mm power drivers, soft snake skin leather earpads, in-line volume control, and sound-boosting parabolic ear-cups. Those who purchase these headphones will also receive a card with an access code to legally download Metallica's new album. Metallica Lowrider ($49.95), on the other hand, offers a 40 mm power driver in a small lowrider chassis, 90-degree swivel, DJ-style speakers, and a fold-up headband for portability.
