Phonic is offering two new low-cost FireWire interfaces, the Firefly 808 ($399.99) and the Firefly 302 ($119.99). Both units are Mac/Win compatible and ship with Cubase LE software. The Firefly 808 is a 2U device featuring 8 analog inputs (1/4-inch and XLR) and 16 digital inputs, as well as 8 analog outputs. The unit supports sampling rates from 44.1 to 192 KHz. The digital I/O includes ADAT Litepipe, word clock, MIDI, AES/EBU, S/PDIF, and SMUX. Up to three units can be used together, giving you 24 analog inputs.

The Firefly 302 is a bus powered, 1/2-rack unit with two analog RCA inputs and an RIAA phono preamp for importing audio from vinyl records. It also includes an XLR input, two analog outputs, MIDI and S/PDIF I/O, large LCD meters, and support for 44.1 to 96 KHz sampling rates.
