Native Instruments has introduce the Kontakt 2 DVD tutorial video workshop ($45), hosted by NI product specialist Brian Smith. The DVD offers a systematic and detailed insight into the wide range of features and capabilities of the company's flagship sampler.
The tutorial is organized into numerous chapters and segments that allow for quick and convenient access to individual topics of interest. Individual chapters address the basics of working with a software sampler, sample mapping, using effects, sample importing, the surround features, and the Kontakt Script Processor. The DVD also comes with a selection of bonus material, including sounds and scripts that illustrate specific topics of the workshop.
Additionally the Kontakt 2 Tutorial DVD offers a number of informative and entertaining extras. Interviews with the main designers of Kontakt 2 offer a glimpse behind the scenes of music software development, while studio visits with Atticus Ross, producer for Nine Inch Nails and Korn, and Hollywood composer Harry Gregson-Williams give insights into how the instrument is being used for professional music production, film composing, and sound design.
