Gvox will be releasing Encore 5 notation software (Mac/Win; $399.99) at Winter NAMM this week. Encore 5 features Music XML import and export; playback with dynamics, hairpins and slurs; support for orchestra libraries; a "handwritten" font; a new graphic interface; smoother-looking lines and slurs; and international editions in French, Spanish, Dutch, and soon, German. The notation software also includes works by J.S. Bach that users can use as-is or for arrangement and instrumentation purposes.
