Green Glue Company has announced Green Glue, an eco-friendly viscoelastic compound used between layers of drywall to ensure excellent noise- and sound-proofing. According to the manufacturer, adding Green Glue to the existing wall, ceiling, or floor surfaces of your studio is a good alternative to tearing out the existing drywall during a renovation.
Adding Green Glue with another layer of drywall to an existing wall decreases the sound transmission by up to 90 percent, and using Green Glue on both the floors and ceiling will dissipate sound energy even further.
The price of Green Glue depends on how much you use, of course; however, the company estimates that soundproofing an average 20 x 20 foot entertainment room with Green Glue would cost approximately $350 in addition to the cost of drywall.
