Fostex has introduced the PD 606 and the PD 204, new digital field recorders whose updated features include full-size DVD RAM disk recording, 8-track recording through the digital I/O, dual drive recording, extreme power efficiency, digital mixer input routing, HD drive access through USB 2.0, high-resolution LED meters, and tri-level sync.

According to the manufacturer, the new machines resemble an updated PD 6. Fostex now offers a choice of power options that include Ni Cad and IDX Endura cell technologies. You can expect these recorders to ship in October, 2007.
