Focusrite has launched its second interface in the Saffire range, the Saffire Pro 26i/o (Mac/Win). The interface has eight Focusrite pre-amps and a total of 52 channels of I/O (26 In, 26 Out) supporting 24-bit, 192 kHz audio. The interface can be bus powered or powered via an external supply.

The Saffire Pro 26i/o has eight analog outputs and a total of 18 digital ins and outs (two S/PDIF and 16 ADAT at 48 kHz). MIDI I/O is also included. The preamps are a derivative of the Focusrite Green Series. The Saffire Pro 26i/o has highpass filters on every channel and two "super channels" with variable impedance controls and insert points.

The Saffire Pro 26i/o includes SaffireControl Pro software, which lets you create your own mix of inputs and outputs. The front panel has two independent headphone outputs with volume control, which are also customizable within SaffireControl Pro. Saffire Pro 26i/o comes bundled with VST and Audio Units effects plug-ins such as compression, reverb, amp modeling, and EQ.
