Discrete Drums has launched i-Studio.net, an online resource for finding musicians, engineers, and producers from New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Philadelphia that can be booked online for a fraction of the cost of a regular studio session.
Sessions start at $400 for a 3-hour block and are conducted online via FTP transfer and real-time chat. Users can discuss their needs before the session starts and submit their tracks at the time of booking to give the players or engineers time to prepare. At the time of the session, a chat room is established, and MP3 files are exchanged to facilitate quick communication. At the end of the session, the finished files are uploaded to the i-Studio FTP site in the desired format.
Mix engineers are also available to mix Pro Tools and other session formats. Rates available upon request.
The i-Studio players and engineers have worked with artists such as John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, the Police, Sting, Mariah Carey, Aerosmith... the list is extensive!
Musicians can also apply to become i-Studio artists. To become an "i-artist," contact Rick DiFonzo at rick@i-studio.net. For more information, visit i-Studio.net.
