Hear your song performed on American Idol! With Apple iTunes as its sponsor, this season of American Idol is holding a songwriting contest called the American Idol Songwriter Competition. To participate, all you need to do is use Apple GarageBand to create a song, and enter your song by March 31, 2008.

Set aside time this weekend for the Idol on iTunes Songwriter Workshop, happening March 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. and March 24, 2008 at 6 p.m at an Apple Retail Store. The free, hour-long workshop will provide songwriting and music-making tips to help you get started on your winning song.
