Ultimate Sound Bank has released X-treme FX (Mac/Win; $399), a sample-based, virtual-instrument plug-in, with an 8 GB sound library, that is dedicated to sound effects, foley, and atmospheric sounds. The plug-in supports VST, MAS, Audio Units, and RTAS on the Mac, and VST, RTAS, and DXi on Windows.
Using the UVI engine, X-treme FX includes a range of sound-shaping tools such as filters, envelopes, syncable LFOs, a modulation matrix, and effects. The library includes over 5,000 presets within the categories Atmospheres, Scenes, Surreal, Science Fiction, Sub & Drones, Natural, Urban, Foleys, and Musical.
